As anticipation builds around this year’s conference, we’re taking a moment to address some common questions we encounter during the lead up to registration.

Where is the Conference and when do I have to be there?

The 2016 Harris Customer Training Conference will take place in Nashville, TN at the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center from November 16-18, 2016.

When will registration open?

Registration will open on July 26, 2016, and you will receive an invitation via email. Links will also be posted on the #HCTC16 page

How long is the conference?

The full conference is 2 1/2 days. On-Site registration begins Tuesday evening, November 15, from 5:30pm-7:30pm. The conference officially kicks off Wednesday morning at 7:30am and concludes on Friday at 12:30pm. A grab & go snack will be available at that time.

Which Business Units are holding pre-conference sessions?

Pre-conferences will be held Monday, November 14 and/or Tuesday, November 15. Here are the Business Units participating:

  • Harris ERP -  1 day (Tuesday)
  • inHance - 2 days
  • North Star – 2 days

How much is registration?

The Early Bird fee is $875USD and requires you to register by September 21, 2016 and make payment no later than October 5th, 2016. Registrations received after September 21, 2016 are $1,200USD. Registrations received after October 21, 2016 are $1,350USD.

What does registration include?

  • Admission to all Conference Sessions
  • Admission to the Sponsorship Showcase
  • All conference sponsored meals (Breakfasts, Lunches and Breaks)
  • Wednesday and Thursday night Special Events

Can I bring a guest?

Yes, you may bring a guest.

The Guest Registration fee is $190USD per guest for admission to both evening events: the cocktail reception on Wednesday and the banquet on Thursday.
If your guest would like to attend only one of the events, the cost is as follows:

  •  $65USD for entrance to the cocktail reception
  •  $125USD for entrance to the banquet

Evening event registration does not include access to Conference Sessions, the Sponsorship Showcase or meals outside of the cocktail reception and banquet. If your guest would like to attend conference meals with you (breakfast and lunch), you can opt to do so at an additional charge of $75USD.

Please note: a Full Conference registration is required in order to attend, and invite guests to the Special Events.

Can I attend just one day of the conference?

Yes, you can purchase a one-day pass; the early bird rate is $300.00USD. Please note that 1-Day passes do not include access to the evening events.

How do I pay for the conference?

The fastest way to complete payment for your conference registration is to do so via credit card online. We accept MasterCard and Visa. Please note a 3.1% service fee will be added to all credit card payments. 

To receive the Early Bird rate you must register no later than September 21, 2016 and payment must be received by Harris no later than October 5, 2016.  
For registrations after September 21, 2016 payment must be received by Harris within 60 days of registration.

If you are paying by check, please mail check to: Harris Computer Systems 62133 Collections Center Drive Chicago, IL 60693-0621 Please include your name and conference registration confirmation number on any checks.

What is your refund/cancellation policy?

If you are paid in full but you cannot find a replacement attendee, and you need to cancel your registration:

  • 100% of your registration will be refunded by September 21st less any transaction fees 
  • 75% of your registration will be refunded by October 21st less any transaction fees

No refunds will be provided after October 21, but you can carry your balance forward to the 2017 conference.

What is the rate for accommodations?    

We have limited rooms blocked off for customers taking part in our pre-conference sessions Sunday, November 13-Monday, November 14.

Our larger block for regular conference attendees runs from Tuesday, November 15 to a Friday morning checkout on the 18th.

Dates outside of our rooming block are not subject to our conference rate.

The special rate for the conference is $189USD (plus taxes). A limited number of rooms are reserved at this rate. 

How can I convince my manager to let me attend?

Mecklenburg County, NC Selects Harris Govern’s Business Tax Suite of Solutions http://msgovern.com/blog/article/mecklenburg_county_nc_selects_harris_governs_business_tax_suite_of_solution/ http://msgovern.com/site/mecklenburg_county_nc_selects_harris_governs_business_tax_suite_of_solution/#When:15:05:20Z Charlotte, NC and Plano, TX - April 9, 2015:  Harris Govern, a division of Harris Computer Systems, is pleased to name Mecklenburg County, North Carolina as its newest customer.

Mecklenburg County, NC becomes Harris Govern's Newest Customer on the Business Tax Suite for the Office of the Tax Collector (OTC) to actively manage, process, and enforce collections for all gross revenue based business tax programs within the City of Charlotte and Mecklenburg County.

The County acquired the Govern Software, the Most Configurable Software in the Industry, to manage its business tax collections.  Through the Business Tax Suite with its Business License module, field Audit Mobile module and the eGovern Public Self Service Portal Suite, the County will automate tax filing and remittance for different tax types that are managed and collected by the OTC.  These tax programs include Room Occupancy Tax, Prepared Food & Beverage Tax, Vehicle Rental Tax, U-Drive-It Tax, and Heavy Equipment Tax.  Business Tax Collections, a business unit within the Office of the Tax Collector (OTC), is also responsible for administering the privilege (business) license tax, issuing garage and attic sale privilege licenses, and producer peddler licenses, and responding to customer inquiries.

"As the Director of the Office of the Tax Collector with a citizenry of more than one million people, I am excited about any software advancement that can quickly and accurately streamline our business tax programs. The breadth and scope of the Govern program, coupled with its user-friendly design, make it the obvious choice to satisfy our complex needs," said Mr. Neal Dixon, Mecklenburg County, North Carolina Tax Collector.

"Our Business Tax Customer list keeps growing and we are very excited to add Mecklenburg County as our newest Customer and Harris Govern user.  The Govern Software will provide the County with an integrated, configurable, innovative and comprehensive "Tax and Licensing" management, administration, filing, renewal, collection, and audit system.  Using the eGovern Suite, the County will extend its eGovernment services to businesses where they could file their tax returns and pay for taxes and fees online all through an "OneStop" process while saving businesses countless hours of manual efforts.  With its configurability, the Govern Software will enable the County to evolve and tailor its environment as driven by internal and external needs.  We look forward to a successful project implementation and ongoing partnership with Mecklenburg County," says Richard Beaini; Vice President, Major Accounts.

About Mecklenburg County

Mecklenburg County was formed in 1762 and it was named in commemoration of the marriage of King George III to Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz, for whom the County seat Charlotte is named.  Mecklenburg County was formed from the western part of Anson County and the first official governmental action took place in February 1763.

Due to higher than anticipated attendance, the Marriott Marquis is completely sold out. We have arranged for the same conference rate of $186/night at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront, which is located just 1/2 mile from the Marriott, and is a short, scenic minute walk along the bay front.

Transportation from/to San Diego Airport

Both the Marriott Marquis and Hilton Bayfront are located only 3 miles from the San Diego airport. The most efficient and cost-effective method of transportation between the airport and hotels is via taxi cab, which would run approximately $15-20 each way.
