We're pleased to announce that the City of Tifton, Georgia is now live with the Govern Utility Billing module! Laurie Graham was the primary Business Analyst on the project, with Daniel Patenaude and Bonnie Brown-Holmes providing services as well. Dana Sumner, Sheila Tucker, Donna Pate and Steven Henderson were the key staff members at Tifton to make this implementation a success!
Tifton provides Water, Sewer, Gas and Waste services to their citizens and has a very busy customer service department lead by Sheila Tucker with many walk in customers making payments, moving in and moving out. Dana Sumner efficiently runs their weekly billing cycles based on a 4 week rotation computed on radio tower transmitted MIU readings providing best of class, accurate service to their citizens. IT Director Steven Henderson keeps all systems operating at their peak performance.
In the mid-1800s, Captain Henry Harding Tift left his home in Mystic, Connecticut for the piney forests of South Georgia to harvest timber for the family shipbuilding business. Little did Captain Tift know that the sawmill he built to prepare the lumber for shipping, and the train tracks that were laid to ship the lumber would be the beginning of Tifton, Georgia. By the turn of the century, a thriving community had evolved from the pine forests and electrical lighting was the rage. Today Tifton has 15,000 plus residents, serves a seven county area and is expected to be named the next regional hub in South Georgia.
