Allegheny County, PA and St. Louis, MO - May 19, 2011: Management Solutions for Government (MS Govern), a division of Harris Computer Systems, is pleased to name Allegheny County, Pennsylvania as its newest customer.
Allegheny County is home to some of the most prestigious health care, educational, cultural and sports institutions in the world. Today, the County boasts burgeoning technology and medical industries, a premier airport, and a world-renowned cultural district. The County's renewed commitment to the environment is evident in its success reclaiming and redeveloping former industrial sites to return them to active economic and recreational uses.
Allegheny County, with a population of approximately 1.3 million, is the second largest county in the State of Pennsylvania with 575,000 parcels. At its hub is the City of Pittsburgh, voted twice as the "Most Livable City in America". Residents and visitors experience a unique local atmosphere, enjoying all the "big city" amenities without many of big city problems. These features blend with special small town warmth and charm-it's no wonder Allegheny County is considered "a great place to live, work and play."
"We are very excited to add Pennsylvania's second largest County to our growing list of customers utilizing our Tax Billing & Collection Software Suite. The Govern Software will provide the County with an innovative, comprehensive and self-contained real estate tax billing and receivable system using industry-standard technology platform that integrates with other existing systems. With its configurable capability, the Govern Software will be economically managed, enhanced, and further improved by in-house County staff. We look forward to assisting the County in its endeavors to provide better service to its citizens for many years to come," says Richard Beaini, Regional Sales Director.
"Allegheny County searched for a business partner that has experience replacing legacy, real estate tax billing and receivables systems; employed a comprehensive, state of the art technology platform; could seamlessly integrate with existing systems within county government; and provide a configurable solution that is flexible enough to adapt to the county's unique business requirements and will be cost effective and manageable well into the future. The Govern software solution has demonstrated the capacity to meet or exceed all of these goals, while helping the county with its 'going green' initiative to reduce our carbon footprint and preserve our environment," stated Allegheny County Treasurer John Weinstein.
The County will begin the project immediately.
